Academic Department Coordinator – Earth and Environment

Job Description

The Academic Department Coordinator administers budgets and research processes within the Earth and Environment department, coordinates department activities, and provides administrative and secretarial support to the Department Chair and faculty members in the Earth and Environment department and related programs (for example, Science, Technology, and Society). The Academic Department Coordinator organizes and completes office work flow and projects; prepares summaries of the faculty teaching schedules and room schedules, maintains office inventories, assists with coordination of the faculty search process; helps plan and coordinate meetings, lectures, and other department events including field trips, accurately maintains files and databases; monitors budgets; responds to inquiries and provides assistance to faculty, students, and department visitors; prepares correspondence, reports, and other documents.  This is a 35-hour per week position.
