Job Description

VisionCorps, a values driven organization providing services to individuals who are blind or vision impaired, has an exciting employment opportunity for a Full-Time KidSight Vision Screener. Reporting to the Coordinator of Rehabilitation Services, the KidSight Vision Screener is a member of our Rehabilitation and Education Team and is based out of our headquarters in Lancaster.

The individual qualified for this position is a good communicator, passionate, and committed to the people they serve. An Associate’s Degree in Human Services or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of education.  Experience working with children focusing on ages 3 – 7 is a plus. Must have or pass Criminal History Report, FBI Background Check, Child Abuse Clearances and Motor Vehicle check from the state of PA.  PAB certification or ability to become certified is required. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite is required.

Position Summary

  • Manages all aspects of prevention and education for KidSight program.
  • Schedules, organizes and delivers vision screenings for children and occasionally adults.
  • Provides education program to children on eye health and safety and to adults on occasion regarding VisionCorps services.
  • Maintains computerized files for both VisionCorps and PAB related to the prevention program including all screenings, referrals, follow up contacts, and change in clients’ status.
