Prevention of Blindness Coordinator
VisionCorps, a values driven organization providing services to individuals who are blind or vision impaired, has an exciting employment opportunity for a Full-Time Prevention of Blindness Coordinator. Reporting to the Coordinator of Rehabilitation Services, the Prevention of Blindness Coordinator is a member of our Rehabilitation and Education Team and is based out of our headquarters in Lancaster.
The individual qualified for this position is a good communicator, passionate, and committed to the people they serve. A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of education. Must have some experience working with disabled individuals of all ages focusing on special needs children and aging population. Must have or pass Criminal History Report, FBI Background Check, Child Abuse Clearances and Motor Vehicle check from the state of PA. PAB certification or ability to become certified is required. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Manages all aspects of prevention and education for children and adult program.
- Schedules, organizes and delivers vision screenings for children and adults.
- Provides education program to children and adults on blindness/vision loss prevention and VisionCorps services.
- Maintains computerized files for both VisionCorps and PAB related to all specialized services clients including eligibility, services plans, client progress and change in clients’ status.
