Job Description

The Proofreader is accountable for content quality throughout the agency. This individual is responsible for reviewing, proofreading and editing all content; ensuring all content elements align—from proofreading for spelling and grammar accuracy to adhering to individual client style guides. This person serves as the point of contact assuring that proofing will be completed on time by either themselves or finding an alternate internal or external resource to complete the work.

Essential Duties:

  • Proofread content for grammatical, spelling, typographical errors and for
    style inconsistencies
  • Edit or markup content within various applications, such as PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Word as well as hard copy layouts
  • Collaborate with content development, creative, and account teams to ensure
    the accuracy and quality of content at all stages of development
  • Work in collaboration with creative/art directors and writers to create and maintain
    up-to-date content style guides and ensure style consistency
  • Serve as the point person for all agency proofreading requests
  • Work with internal and external resources as needed to accomplish proofreading requests and quick-turns
  • Manage a large workload under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Deliver on-time, high-quality and error-free work that gets results

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in English or related field preferred
  • Agency experience preferred
  • Experience level desired: 2+ years (B2B preferred)
  • Excellent proofreading and editing skills for all digital and traditional mediums
  • Strong decision-making and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to juggle multiple projects while meeting demanding deadlines and ensuring high-quality standards
