Shuttle Driver (Part Time)
Part-time Driver (maximum 20 hours per week) academic year position will be responsible for transporting students around a 7-block radius of the College. Sunday through Wednesday 9:00 pm – 1:00 am, Thursday through Saturday from 10:00 pm – 3:00 am. Shifts rotate with other drivers.
Drivers also provide shuttle services during College break periods to and from the Lancaster Train Station and airports in Baltimore, Harrisburg and Philadelphia. Includes shuttle service for special events and trips for College departments and groups as requested.
Part-time members of the Franklin & Marshall staff enjoy access to all College facilities including dining venues to suit all tastes, recreation and fitness facilities, and libraries, plus access to College performances, lectures, and events.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, and excellent customer service skills. Previous long distance driving experience is preferred. Must be familiar with computer use to check email and schedule.
Because this position is required to drive for College business, the successful candidate must possess a U.S. or Canadian driver’s license which has been valid for at least 2 years, have a driving record that is free from excessive motor vehicle violations within the last 3 years, and have had no convictions in the last 24 months for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Drivers will participate, at the College’s expense, in a van driver education course and a driving test and must successfully complete both in order to begin working.
The ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential.
Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of reference checks, a criminal background verification, Pennsylvania ACT 153 background clearances, and verification of credentials. In addition, the College requires that all Shuttle Drivers complete a pre-employment drug screen, vision and hearing test and physical evaluation. The College will coordinate these verifications.
